The mission statement of the General Missionary Benevolent Association is “Inspiring our Youth in the Great Work of the Lord.” Through the various GMBA programs, the lives of many young people in the Church of Jesus Christ have been impacted, to which they can testify.
GMBA Campout: A church tradition that began in the 1960s, GMBA Campout is an annual, one-week event that offers preaching of a centralized theme, seminars, fellowship, and recreation. Many profound blessings and miracles of the Lord have happened at Campouts, and these events are a large part of many brothers’ and sisters’ testimonies of conversion. Settings in recent years for camp have been Texas Women’s University in Denton, TX, Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ, and Saginaw Valley State University in Saginaw, MI. Many families look forward to Campout as the most important traveling event of the year and know that if they make the effort to attend, the blessings of God will surely follow. Each Area of the Church holds its own weekend camp every year.
